Our Story

Vanillaware was founded in 2006 as a custom software development company with expertise in supply chain management. Through collaboration with medical supply distributors and senior care providers, the team identified an opportunity to improve how healthcare organizations manage inventory, purchasing, and charge capture. What began as a custom solution evolved into SupplyHawk.

As the senior care industry and technology landscape have evolved, so has Vanillaware. SupplyHawk has grown from an inventory management solution into a comprehensive suite supporting organizations across the continuum of care. Innovation has remained a constant focus as we continue to adapt to the changing needs of healthcare providers, such as moving from early handheld devices and barcode scanners to today’s cloud-based and mobile applications.

Drawing on decades of experience in software development and supply chain management, Tom recognized an opportunity to use technology to solve real operational challenges in senior care. Alongside fellow founders and a growing team of industry professionals, he helped transform an idea into a platform trusted by organizations across the country.

Today, Tom remains actively involved in the continued development of Vanillaware's solutions. His commitment to practical innovation and close collaboration with clients has helped shape a company culture that values people first: the people who use SupplyHawk, those who support it, and those who are impacted by the quality of care provided by organizations employing it.

Mike McGarry

VP of Operations

With over 38 years of experience in a variety of CIO/CTO roles, Mike has managed IT teams for software companies and built a proven track record for developing advanced software applications and deploying them via hosted cloud platforms. For the last 10 years, he has worked in the senior living industry and has extensive knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
